I was born and raised in Salina, Kansas and educated in the local Catholic schools, which were staffed by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Concordia, Kansas. Following my father’s footsteps, I attended the University of Notre Dame and received a BS in Finance in 1958.
After a brief tour in the Army as an Infantry Officer I entered the Immaculate Conception Seminary run by the Benedictines. During the six years in the seminary I received a BA in Philosophy from Conception, an STB in Theology from Catholic University and an MA in Theology from Conception. After being laicized and married in the Catholic Church to my wife Sydney, I received my PhD in Adult Education from Kansas State University.
During the following years, I worked as an educational consultant and in 1981 joined with two partners to start a Dental HMO in Kansas City. During this time frame I continued to teach in the RCIA program. After my retirement in 1996, many of the lectures contained in TheologyTable.com were developed to meet requests from various churches, social organizations and Kansas State University.
